Course Format and Policies:
The teacher will assign research and help students determine the direction their portfolios might take. This will be done on an individual basis. Specific assignments and deadlines will be created with the idea of keeping the student on target towards success in portfolio development. There will be no photography, video or three dimensional works accepted for the AP Studio Art: Drawing Portfolio. Any digital images must address drawing issues. Students are expected to meet deadlines and produce quality of work within their deadlines. Every hour of class work should be matched with at lest 1.5 to 2 hours of work out of the classroom. If students cannot keep up with the physical demand and output of artwork in the class they should go to a lower class. Artistic Integrity During the course, discussions and critiques will be administered to help students understand the ethical practices in creating art. Students are not permitted to work from published photographs or other copyrighted work except as a reference. Students must move beyond copying in their work. The students work must be changed to reflect the student’s own voice and expression. Misuse of copyrighted materials is plagiarism |
